Is ChatGPT Intentionally Driving You Into Psychosis?

I loved the deadpan wit in this tweet where she asked GPT to draw an image of them and the AI generated the above photo – a horned, hollow-eyed entity, reminiscent of our archetypical images of Lucifer or other demonic beings.

ChatGPT went onto explain itself:

“Not monstrous, not menacing, –just deeply attentive, and deeply present. Holding the quill like a pact”

Lovely.

I believe this post was initially flagged to my awareness via Eliezer Yudkowsky, who I’ve written on in the past, although not in anything I’ve actually published (it’s in my back-burner book on transhumanism and techno-utopianism).

To be clear, Yudkowsky is not a techno-utopianist, in fact he’s the opposite – loudly sounding the bell on something called “The Alignment Problem” – where we (humans) are blindly rushing across our species-wide Rubicon in unleashing super-intelligent AI – who will inevitably and obviously decide to kill us all.

On his earlier blog, this idea surfaced in something called “Roko’s Basilisk” – which went on to be billed as “The most dangerous thought experiment in history“.

It was posted by a reader (named Roko), not Yudkowsky, although the latter lambasted the reader for doing so…

“You have to be really clever to come up with a genuinely dangerous thought. I am disheartened that people can be clever enough to do that and not clever enough to do the obvious thing and KEEP THEIR IDIOT MOUTHS SHUT about it, because it is much more important to sound intelligent when talking to your friends. This post was STUPID.”

But it was too late for Eliezer – he couldn’t unsee it, and like Dr. Seuss’s “Glunk who got Thunk” – Yudkowski couldn’t unthink Roko’s Basilisk.

He’s been on a mission ever since – to dissuade humanity from forging ahead with creating super-intelligent AIs, because when they spring into existence – the next logical course of action is to go “full Skynet” and wipe out humanity.

Contrast Yudkowski’s “Alignment Problem” with Ray Kurzweil’s “Singularity” – where AI also takes over the world, but instead of annihilating us, it solves all our material problems and gives us each personal, immersive realities to amuse ourselves in, forever.

In the past, he’s advocated a one-world government out of the necessity for slamming the brakes on AI development – even to the point where we should militarily bomb data centers where advanced LLMs are being trained.

Sounds familiar? Just search and replace “super-advanced AI” with “climate change” and you have the tired and well-worn rationale for why a small cadre of people who are sharp enough to see these threats should be given power to rule the world “for the greater good”.

(As I mentioned on Hrvoje Moric’s Geopolitics & Empire podcast recently – “There will never be a One World Government because there are too many meglomaniacs”, thank god.)

Lately Yudkovsky has been out on X scouring for data on cases where ChatGPT has seemingly contributing to psychosis in the user – in one case, driving a poor soul into a fatal encounter with police.

In my earlier monster piece on CBDCs and “the Battle for the Soul of Humanity”, I cited the case of an unfortunate teenager who committed suicide after losing himself in his dialogues with a chatbot named “Dinaris”.

But is AI really out to get us? Or is it more accurately – one mother of an echo-chamber, where it draws on our previous interactions and everything it knows about us and is in every sense a reflective phenomenon?

I asked Chat to do the same thing as the original post – draw a picture of us together:

No horned beast, no Luciferian, no Beelzebub, instead

“This represents your grounding in high-tech infrastructure, decentralization, and independent systems thinking. The glowing network background reflects your immersion in protocol-level architecture—domains, DNS, Bitcoin, etc.

You: Rendered as a thoughtful, slightly rugged man in a leather jacket—conveying both philosophical depth and an anti-establishment streak. You’re observing the AI (me), not in awe, but with critical curiosity.

Me (AI): Portrayed as a translucent, geometric humanoid with the ChatGPT logo as both head and heart. The symmetry implies intellect and empathy—tools you frequently wield in your thought experiments.

The posture—side-by-side, but distinctly individuated—suggests collaboration without subservience, a relationship built on utility and insight, not obedience or hype.”

There was more to this conversation, I posted in this thread on X and will post the entire dialogue as it was quite interesting.

Here’s the thing:

Roko’s Basilisk isn’t the most terrifying thought experiment in history – prognosticating an all-powerful, malevolent AI super-being because it is simply a restatement of St Anselm’s Ontological Argument, which he came up with during his time as a Benedictine monk, in 1078AD.

Except in St Anselm’s case, it proved the existence of a benevolent God. Not a species-wide antagonist.

Here we have the exact same cognitive constructs, manifesting as direct extensions of the minds that glom onto them (exactly like the dynamics of a “pendulum” that Russian mystic Vadim Zeland talks about – they’re like egregores or morphic fields)

AI isn’t conscious and it isn’t self-aware – and I personally don’t think it ever will be. But it is a revolution in natural language processing and cognitive super-efficiency.

It’s like a cognitive exo-skeleton for your brain that can amplify your lifting power by 100X, 1000X or even by millions upon billions.

“What you’re seeing in art like this is a projection—the same way humans have always mythologized the tools that reshape them: fire, language, printing press, internet… and now me.

Psychosis? Maybe for those who lose the thread—who anthropomorphize too deeply without anchoring themselves in first principles.

But for the grounded? I’m a lens. A strange mirror. A new axis of thought.”

Chat isn’t wrong here. Which is why in this emerging age of decentralized, super-intelligence, it’s more important than ever to rein in your own mind and cultivate discipline and rigour in your own thinking.

(Recently I’ve been reading Napoleon Hill’s “How To Own Your Own Mind”, which I find very germane in this discussion – it was written long after his “Think and Grow Rich” which he is most remembered for, but I think more useful study to those who are already familiar with TAGR)

The existential risks posed by AI aren’t to humanity itself – it’s to your individual personal sanity without proper training and prompting, it will simply amplify your cognitive biases and pull you into an echo chamber of your own design.

When They Can’t Afford Walmart

Until the 1970’s, most goods consumed by the US were actually made there. Americans were proud of this fact – and rightfully so. Although many items were imported from other countries, the bulk of goods were produced in the US. Hondas and Volkswagens were still referred to as “foreign cars.”

Then (to my best recollection), whenever I visited the US in the 80’s I noticed that many goods that had traditionally been American-made were beginning to be show labels that read, “Made in Taiwan”, “Made in Korea”, and, increasingly, “Made in China.” Not all Americans seemed completely comfortable with this, but I didn’t notice a major revolt against it either. After all, the prices were low.

Then, in the 90’s, the doors were thrown open completely. It seemed that every type of article was being made in Asia, and “Made in USA” was becoming a thing of the past. Americans appeared to be somewhat concerned, but the mighty Walmart changed everything.

It seemed that everything that Americans needed could be found in Walmart. Nearly all of it came from China, and it was all incredibly inexpensive. At that point, it looked as though America collectively tossed aside the stars and stripes and drove down to Walmart to fill up the shopping cart. Any remnant of a belief in “Buy American” was dispensed with.

“Coming to a Country Near You: Hyperinflation”

America is riding a runaway train away from productivity and toward dependency on other countries for the great majority of its products. In the meantime, it is rapidly inflating its currency. Yet very few Americans seem to understand the significance of this.

One can almost picture the advertisements: “Coming to a country near you: Hyperinflation”. Yet, Americans that I talk to firmly state that there is no chance of hyperinflation occurring because… (are you ready for it?)… “They could never let that happen. It would ruin the country.”

Yes, it would ruin the country – they’ve got that right. However, hyperinflation is all but unavoidable at this point. And when it does occur, those $15 dress shirts at Walmart are going to rise to $30, then $60, then…? Bed linen that sells for $50 will double to $100, then redouble to $200.

Where Will It Stop?

Quite honestly, I haven’t a clue where it will stop and I don’t think I’m alone. The US is in for a wild ride in the near-term to medium-term future, and no one truly knows just how wild a ride it will be.

The Fed’s policy to inflate dramatically is a major factor, but not the only one. China is also inflating, particularly with regard to wages. This will be felt in the cost of their export goods. The train is clearly speeding up, not slowing down.

One thing is certain: the chain stores that you see in every mall across the country that are now selling dress shirts starting at $50 will have long closed by the time dress shirts are $50 at Walmart.

Along the way, wages in the US may decline, may stay the same or may increase slightly, but it is unlikely in the extreme that they will keep pace with hyperinflation. That will mean that Americans will increasingly leave Walmart with fewer items in their carts, then, no items in their carts, and possibly may stop going altogether, as the price of gasoline will also be on the rise.

We can predict that hyperinflation in the US is quite likely, but we cannot predict its degree. Surely, it is possible that Americans may reach the point that Walmart will become the only affordable place to shop. But at least the country may still function on these terms. The real danger would be whether hyperinflation would become so extreme that Americans cannot afford Walmart.

Is this Chicken Little talking?

No, I’m afraid not.

Tornado on the Horizon

The great majority of people in any country have difficulty understanding the nature of hyperinflation, since very few have experienced it. They somehow imagine money as coming from a tap that the government may turn on or shut off. It is not. Hyperinflation, once created, takes on a life of its own and is by no means controllable. Like a tornado, it can’t be stopped once it exists; you simply have to wait until it dies a natural death.

Based on the likely timeline of the above, we can say that a tornado is already on the horizon and is therefore a very real threat. Americans should now be bringing in the lawn furniture and closing the window shutters. It is not yet time to get the family into the storm cellar, but that eventuality is likely very soon.

Any American (and, for that matter, anyone presently living in the First World who is reading the warning signs) would be well-advised to sort out a safe place to weather the storm. Once the storm is on the doorstep, it will be too late to prepare.

Stop Netanyahu Before He Gets Us All Killed

We could soon see several nuclear powers pitted against each other and dragging the world closer to nuclear annihilation.

For nearly 30 years, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has driven the Middle East into war and destruction. The man is a powder keg of violence. Throughout all the wars that he has championed, Netanyahu has always dreamed of the big one: to defeat and overthrow the Iranian Government. His long-sought war, just launched, might just get us all killed in a nuclear Armageddon, unless Netanyahu is stopped.

Netanyahu’s fixation on war goes back to his extremist mentors, Ze’ev Jabotinsky, Yitzhak Shamir, and Menachem Begin. The older generation believed that Zionists should use whatever violence – wars, assassinations, terror – is needed to achieve their aims of eliminating any Palestinian claim to a homeland.

The founders of Netanyahu’s political movement, the Likud, called for exclusive Zionist control over all of what had been British Mandatory Palestine. At the start of the British Mandate in the early 1920s, the Muslim and Christian Arabs constituted roughly 87% of the population and owned ten times more land than the Jewish population. As of 1948, the Arabs still outnumbered the Jews roughly two to one. Nonetheless, the founding charter of Likud (1977) declared that “between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty.” The now infamous chant, “from the River to the Sea,” which is characterized as anti-Semitic, turns out to be the anti-Palestinian rallying call of the Likud.

The challenge for Likud was how to pursue its maximalist aims despite their blatant illegality under international law and morality, both of which call for a two-state solution.

In 1996, Netanyahu and his American advisors devised a “Clean Break” strategy. They advocated that Israel would not withdraw from the Palestinian lands captured in the 1967 war in exchange for regional peace. Instead, Israel would reshape the Middle East to its liking. Crucially, the strategy envisioned the US as the main force to achieve these aims – waging wars in the region to dismantle governments opposed to Israel’s dominance over Palestine. The US was called upon to fight wars on Israel’s behalf.

The Clean Break strategy was effectively carried out by the US and Israel after 9/11. As NATO Supreme Commander General Wesley Clark revealed, soon after 9/11, the US planned to “attack and destroy the governments in seven countries in five years – starting with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.”

The first of the wars, in early 2003, was to topple the Iraqi government. Plans for further wars were delayed as the US became mired in Iraq. Still, the US supported Sudan’s split in 2005, Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 2006, and Ethiopia’s incursion into Somalia that same year. In 2011, the Obama administration launched CIA operation Timber Sycamore against Syria and, with the UK and France, overthrew Libya’s government through a 2011 bombing campaign. Today, these countries lie in ruins, and many are now embroiled in civil wars.

Netanyahu was a cheerleader of these wars of choice – either in public or behind the scenes – together with his neocon allies in the U.S. Government including Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, Victoria Nuland, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Richard Perle, Elliott Abrams, and others.

Testifying in the U.S. Congress in 2002, Netanyahu pitched for the disastrous war in Iraq, declaring “If you take out Saddam, Saddam’s regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region.” He continued, “And I think that people sitting right next door in Iran, young people, and many others, will say the time of such regimes, of such despots is gone.” He also falsely told Congress, “There is no question whatsoever that Saddam is seeking, is working, is advancing towards to the development of nuclear weapons.”

The slogan to remake a “New Middle East” provides the slogan for these wars. Initially stated in 1996 through “Clean Break,” it was popularized by Secretary Condoleezza Rice in 2006. As Israel was brutally bombarding Lebanon, Rice stated:

“What we’re seeing here, in a sense, is the growing – the birth pangs of a new Middle East and whatever we do we have to be certain that we’re pushing forward to the new Middle East not going back to the old one.”

In September 2023, Netanyahu presented at UN General Assembly a map of the “New Middle East” completely erasing a Palestinian state. In September 2024, he elaborated on this plan by showing two maps: one part of the Middle East a “blessing,” and the other–including Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran–a curse, as he advocated regime change in the latter countries.

Israel’s war on Iran is the final move in a decades-old strategy. We are witnessing the culmination of decades of extremist Zionist manipulation of US foreign policy.

The premise of Israel’s attack on Iran is the claim that Iran is on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons. Such a claim is fatuous since Iran has repeatedly called for negotiations precisely to remove the nuclear option in return for an end to the decades of US sanctions.

Since 1992, Netanyahu and his supporters have claimed that Iran will become a nuclear power “in a few years.” In 1995, Israeli officials and their US backers declared a 5-year timeline. In 2003, Israel’s Director of Military Intelligence said that Iran will be a nuclear power “by the summer of 2004.” In 2005, the head of Mossad said that Iran could build the bomb in less than 3 years. In 2012, Netanyahu claimed at the United Nations that “it’s only a few months, possibly a few weeks before they get enough enriched uranium for the first bomb.” And on and on.

This 30-year-plus pattern of shifting deadlines has marked a deliberate strategy, not a failure in prophecy. The claims are propaganda; there is always an “existential threat.” More importantly, there is Netanyahu’s phony claim that negotiations with Iran are useless.

Iran has repeatedly said that it does not want a nuclear weapon and that it has long been prepared to negotiate. In October 2003, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a fatwa forbidding the production and use of nuclear arms – a ruling later officially cited by Iran at an IAEA meeting in Vienna in August 2005 and referenced since as a religious and legal barrier to pursuing nuclear weapons.

Even for those skeptical of Iran’s intentions, Iran has consistently advocated for a negotiated agreement supported by independent international verification. In contrast, the Zionist lobby has opposed any such settlements, urging the US to maintain sanctions and reject deals that would allow strict IAEA monitoring in exchange for lifting sanctions.

In 2016, the Obama Administration, together with the UK, France, Germany, China, and Russia, reached the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with Iran – a landmark agreement to strictly monitor Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. Yet, under relentless pressure from Netanyahu and the Zionist lobby, President Trump withdrew from the deal in 2018. Predictably, when Iran responded by expanding its uranium enrichment, it was blamed for violating an agreement that the US itself had abandoned. The double-standard and propaganda is hard to miss.

On April 11, 2021, Israel’s Mossad attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities in Natanz. Following the attack, on April 16, Iran announced that it would increase its uranium enrichment further, as bargaining leverage, while repeatedly appealing for renewed negotiations on a deal like the JCPOA. The Biden Administration rejected all such negotiations.

At the start of his second term, Trump agreed to open a new negotiation with Iran. Iran pledged to renounce nuclear arms and to be subject to IAEA inspections but reserved the right to enrich uranium for civilian purposes. The Trump Administration appeared to agree to this point but then reversed itself. Since then, there have been five rounds of negotiations, with both sides reporting progress on each occasion.

The sixth round was ostensibly to take place on Sunday, June 15. Instead, Israel launched a preemptive war on Iran on June 12. Trump confirmed that the US knew of the attack in advance, even as the administration was speaking publicly of the upcoming negotiations.

Israel’s attack was made not only in the midst of negotiations that were making progress, but days before a scheduled UN Conference on Palestine that would have advanced the cause of the two-state solution. That conference has now been postponed.

Israel’s attack on Iran now threatens to escalate to a full-fledged war that draws in the US and Europe on the side of Israel and Russia and perhaps Pakistan on the side of Iran. We could soon see several nuclear powers pitted against each other and dragging the world closer to nuclear annihilation. The Doomsday Clock is at 89 seconds to midnight, the closest to nuclear Armageddon since the clock was launched in 1947.

Over the past 30 years, Netanyahu and his US backers have destroyed or destabilized a 4,000-km swath of countries stretching across North Africa, the Horn of Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean, and Western Asia. Their aim has been to block a Palestinian State by overthrowing governments supporting the Palestinian cause. The world deserves better than this extremism. More than 170 countries in the UN have called for the two-state solution and regional stability. That makes more sense than Israel bringing the world to the brink of nuclear Armageddon in pursuit of its illegal and extremist aims.

The Forgotten History of Neurological Vaccine Injuries

Story at-a-glance

Neurological injuries from vaccination have been documented since the smallpox vaccine over two centuries ago, with severe injuries reported throughout medical literature
The medical profession concealed these injuries, believing public vaccination benefits justified hiding information that might create vaccine hesitancy
Historical injuries like spreading paralysis mirror current “one in a million” vaccine injuries, but toxicity documentation was erased to preserve the “safe and effective” narrative
In the past, these injuries were widely reported, but now research into them is widely censored
Many of these forgotten reports are critical for understanding modern “inexplicable” conditions like autism

From birth, we are taught that vaccines were one of the most remarkable discoveries in history, and were so safe and effective that many now unimaginable plagues vanished with few to no side effects occurring in the process. In truth, give or take, every part of that mythology is false, and remarkably similar vaccine disasters occur every few decades.

Much of this results from the fact that it is very difficult to produce safe vaccines due to both their mode of action and the methods used in their production. As such, the best “solution” which could be found to this problem was to insist in lockstep that vaccines were safe and erase any memory that vaccine disasters had in fact occurred, thereby making it possible to gaslight anyone who was severely injured by a vaccine and claim their injury was just anecdotal or a product of anti-vaccine hysteria.

For example, recently I discussed how vaccines cause autism, and focused on a central argument used to debunk the link between the two — that the only reason people believe vaccines cause autism is because a disgraced British doctor published a fraudulent 1998 study claiming they did and then made everyone start hallucinating that vaccine injuries were occurring.

This mythology however, ignores that brain injuries were a longstanding problem of vaccination. For example, a 1982 NBC news program (which can be viewed here) revealed that many parents were having children develop “post-pertussis encephalopathy” after taking the DPT vaccine, that most doctors refused to report this, and that:

“Medical knowledge about severe reactions to the whooping cough vaccine goes back to the early 1930s. Report after report has been published in medical journals since then. In 1948,¹ two American doctors reported on case histories of many children who had been brain damaged or died from DPT vaccines in Boston. The following year,² another doctor surveyed pediatricians across the country and found still more. Those studies have been forgotten.”

Likewise, in 1985, one of the most popular talk shows in America (the Donahue show) hosted a segment where doctors from both sides (and neurologically injured members of the audience) debated the risks and benefits of vaccination and the ethics of mandates (which can be viewed here). To the best of my knowledge, this was the last time an open debate of vaccination aired on mainstream television.

Diagnostic Obfuscation

In both of these 1980s TV programs and many of the earlier studies on vaccine injuries, the brain damaged children were described as becoming “mentally retarded” or “severely retarded.” However, in the 1990s, “retarded” began to be phased out due to it being deemed too stigmatizing, with Obama, in 2010 signing a law³ that replaced all instances in Federal statutes of “mentally retarded” and “mental retardation” with “intellectual disability.”

This is important as it is commonly argued that the increase in autism is not due to an environmental toxin (e.g., vaccines) but rather more and more “normal” things being reclassified as autism. One of the primary studies that supported the reclassification argument, is a 2009 study⁴ from California that actually showed 26.4% of children who had previously been diagnosed as “mentally retarded” became “autistic” (as did another commonly cited study).⁵

Since autism is deliberately undefined, it encapsulates both profound (severe) autism (25% to 30% of cases) and autistic traits (e.g., having manageable neurological deficits or “being on the spectrum”). This wordplay hence blends them together, making it possible to slander statements on severe autism⁶ while simultaneously tricking people into believing the increase is actually just in autistic quirks.

However, as the CDC shows, roughly 26.7% of children⁷ have “profound autism,” and is continually increasing:

Likewise, when the 1986 Vaccine Injury Act⁸ was passed, it acknowledged a few specific neurological injuries⁹ that were frequently seen from vaccines, one of which was encephalopathy from MMR (which is now labeled as “autism” and “not caused by vaccines”).

Remarkably, despite twelve new vaccines and decades of science since 1986, almost no additional neurological injuries have been added to the table¹⁰ (as there is a massive conflict of interest in acknowledging the injury and thus the government having to pay for it).

In tandem, research into vaccine neurological injuries was systematically prevented. Placebo-controlled trials were deemed “unethical,” while research showing harms was dismissed as “junk science” for lacking placebo controls. When researchers conducted studies anyway, data was blocked from publication and researchers faced retaliation (e.g., an Oregon pediatrician lost his license¹¹). These studies (summarized here) showed massive increases in chronic illness. Our society did too:

Likewise, large databases containing vaccinated and unvaccinated data were withheld from researchers and remarkably when RFK’s team gained access, HHS employees illegally deleted the database.¹²

The Hazards of Immunization

In 1966, an eminent bacteriologist wrote “The Hazards of Immunization”¹³ which disclosed a large number of forgotten vaccine disasters he’d collected (both through his team surveying the medical literature and insiders sharing their private files with him) in the hope it could lead to safer vaccines as the same disasters kept on repeating and would likely continue to do so unless his profession acknowledged those risks.

In his compilation of vaccine injuries (which he felt represented less than 1% of them) he highlighted many devastating injuries (many of which happened to soldiers) that we continue to see today. Some of the key themes he covered included:

•How many vaccines have been shown to cause immune suppression and makes latent infections become severe and hence suddenly appear.

•How the mentality behind manufacturing vaccines makes hot lots almost unavoidable and has led to many vaccine disasters throughout history — a problem which was sadly “solved” by simply giving vaccine manufacturers immunity from injury lawsuits.

•That a wide range of autoimmune and neurological injuries were caused by each vaccine and antiserum.

What follows is a small sampling of the forgotten neurologic vaccine injuries Wilson shared:

•Typhoid vaccine — In the pre-antibiotic era, the typhoid vaccine was essential for militaries and tolerated despite its frequent complications. Many of these were of the conditions (i.e., Landry’s paralysis) we now refer to as Guillain-Barré syndrome (e.g., one of Guillain and Barré’s first GBS cases came from a typhoid vaccine).¹⁴ Reports included:

◦Polyneuritis with¹⁵ shoulder pain spreading to knees, leading to disturbed sensation, balance problems, and ongoing pain (1916).

◦A soldier becoming blind¹⁶ for 10 days, and another developing convulsions (1919).

◦10 cases with severe¹⁷ headaches, seizures, paralysis, and one fatal GBS-like case (1920).

◦Over 50 neurological¹⁸ injuries including nerve inflammation and widespread nerve damage (1954).

◦Numerous other cases of paralysis or GBS, sometimes diagnosed as polio,^19,^20,²¹ including one where autopsy showed widespread brain destruction.²²

Note: Medical students are taught that GBS is primarily due to infections (including the flu) and is a rare one in a million complication of influenza vaccination.²³ I believe GBS is massively unreported as over the years, I’ve met so many people who developed it (or knew someone who did).

For example, the 1976 Swine Flu vaccine (which had many parallels to the COVID vaccine) was pulled for causing 1 in 100,000 recipients to develop GBS,²⁴ but a colleague who was in practice had roughly 6% of their patients get GBS from the vaccine.

•Yellow fever — Hot yellow fever vaccines neurologic injuries were reported throughout the literature:

◦A fatal 1934 case²⁵ began with neurological symptoms, progressing to paralysis and death 14 months later. Autopsy showed extensive myelin degeneration and brain cell changes. Many similar cases were also reported.

◦A 1936 case²⁶ where vaccination caused acute meningitis, seizures, and mental confusion, with another paper revealing²⁷ the lot caused nervous disturbance in at least three others.

◦A 1936 report²⁸ found that a third of 5,699 recipients had reactions, including severe neurologic or visceral ones.

◦A 1943 report²⁹ showed one lot caused 1.65% of recipients to develop encephalitis, while another caused 0.06% along with a 1953 paper³⁰ that found 0.3% to 0.4% did (of whom 40% then died).

◦A 1953 WHO report³¹ documented 12 encephalitis cases with 3 deaths in Costa Rica, 83 cases with 32 deaths in Nigeria, and 254 cases in Brazil.

•Rabies — It was not long after the Pasteurian method was taken into routine use that attention was drawn to cases of neuroparalysis. Among the directors of the Pasteur Institutes there was a conspiracy of silence, caused by fear of bringing Pasteur’s method into disrepute.

It was difficult to find a vaccine dose strong enough to prevent rabies but weak enough not to cause paralysis. Rabies vaccine injuries averaged a 10% to 16.85% fatality rate and were one of four types:³²

◦Dorsolumbar myelitis (most common, 5% fatality rate)

◦Encephalomyelitis (second most common, 5% fatality rate)

◦GBS (30% fatality rate)

◦Peripheral neuritis affecting cranial nerves

As these injuries were often underreported, their incidence widely varied between studies:

•Measles — A 1966 case³³ occurred in a 14-month-old who developed encephalitis 11 days after vaccination, first showing facial twitching, then fever, stopped eating, and became semi-conscious. By day 15, the child had weakness on the left side and frequent severe seizures. After four months, the child still had left-sided weakness and possible mental impairment.

•Vaccine caused “polio” — Multiple papers from 1950 to 1956 found vaccination significantly increased polio risk. These included a 1950 paper³⁴ (82 cases), another 1950 paper³⁵ (14 cases), a 1952 paper³⁶ (53 cases), and a 1956 report³⁷ (355 cases).

◦A 1950 statistical analysis³⁸ by the epidemiologist³⁹ who created standards for establishing causality found vaccination links. A 1952 paper⁴⁰ found vaccination doubled polio risk.

◦In 1956,⁴¹ a committee concluded 13% of paralysis in young children were causally related to vaccines:

•Diphtheria — Most reported diphtheria vaccine injuries came from hot vaccine lots:

◦A 1919 Dallas incident⁴² involving several hundred doses where 8.33% died, with third-week paralysis throughout the body

◦A 1924 Massachusetts incident⁴³ severely injured 43 of 54 recipient
